Well, Katy looked terribly cute in all her scarves for her murder mystery dinner party that I had to draw her. That and I hadn't drawn anything from life since school ended. So I had this sketch from ADVANCE camp and thought I'd post it since I just LOVE how it came out. It took only thirty minutes and it's a likeness!

In a new notebook with toned pages. I used black soft charcoal and white conte. I think I'm getting better!! This is one of my favorite portraits ever ;P

murder mystery dinner party?! that sounds so awesome. we had one once a loong time ago but I want another. Now on to the drawing...I like it alot. It feels so spontaneous and loose. and it feels middleeast with all the scarves.

Yeah! Katy sorta half wrote it. Well, she hated the end so she came up with her own. SO much better!

I'm glad you noticed the looseness. I'm trying to develope that. Still haven't done it in painting, but I'm getting better!

And I love the scarf-flare. Katy is just so cool like that :P I almost wish I had done it in color because of how random that would have been!
